We are so privileged to care for your child in the nursery during service at The Summit Church. We desire to show your child God's love at an early age. We recognize that even infants can develop a relationship with God by the words we say and the songs we sing. The Summit Kids Nursery is a clean, loving, and peaceful environment designed to care for children from birth through 2 years. The room is divided into two zones, one for younger babies and one for more active toddlers.
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by one of our friendly volunteers who will assist you with checking in your child. Please inform us of anything that will help us to better care for your child such as allergies, special needs, etc. Each child must be dropped off and picked up by a parent or guardian using the pager you will be issued at check-in. In the event that the Summit Kids Volunteers need to reach you during the service regarding your child, your pager will vibrate. If this happens, please return to the classroom immediately.
We recommend that parents label any items (bottles, jackets, blankets, etc.) with their child's name. Please feel welcome to bring any comfort items your child might have such as a blanket or a favorite toy.
For the safety of all of our children, there will be no less than two volunteers in a classroom at all times. We do not change diapers in our nursery. If there is an immediate need for you to do so, we will contact you via your pager.
We operate a well-baby nursery. For the well-being of all the children, we ask that parents do not leave a child in the nursery who has cold symptoms, a fever, an unexplainable rash or wound, a persistent cough, mucous in the eyes, etc.
We provide snacks for our toddlers, which consist of "Goldfish" or Graham crackers. Please let one of the volunteers know if your child is allergic to either of these food items.
A nursing mother's room is available in the lounge of the women’s restroom, to comfortably feed your baby.
We encourage all parents who use our nursery, to volunteer with our Children’s Ministry in some capacity. If you prefer not to volunteer in the same room as your child, we have opportunities in the preschool and elementary classrooms as well. We have Parent Partner applications in the classroom and would be happy to answer any questions.
Please feel free to ask our volunteers any other questions you may have. You can also contact us by email at mary@thesummitoc.com.
